Event Options

  • Engage with Qinghuaci pottery to uncover the past — learn how these porcelain pieces tell stories of trade, exchange, and cultural fusion along the Silk Roads. Work with air-dry clay and special paints. Shape cups, then paint after they dry. As students craft their cups, they'll touch on lessons of ancient commerce, artistry, and the mingling of civilizations that shaped our world.

  • This lesson draws from the Dragon Boat Festival's rich customs, blending history with hands-on crafting. Students will make perfume pouches from fabric, paint, and scents like rose petals and chrysanthemum. While creating, they'll learn about the festival's origins, traditional healing, and the cultural significance of warding off illness and spirits.

  • Learn papercutting with a nod to Chinese New Year traditions. This activity uncovers the meanings behind chuanghua designs and how they express hopes for wealth, joy, and good fortune. As students cut paper, they practice dexterity and discover the role of these pieces in cultural celebrations.
